SPFBO Update: Orconomics is a Finalist

SPFBO Update: Orconomics is a Finalist

Orconomics is a finalist in the 2018 Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off. You can read the full announcement on BookNest.eu. I’ve read it six times. It doesn’t get old for me.

Orconomics is a finalist in SPFBO 2018.

I’m taking a moment to enjoy a drink. Petros of BookNest.eu effectively nursed the drama of the finalist announcement on the Facebook group from a tiny ball of suspense into a raging, unstoppable anxiety over the past few days. And now, a single malt scotch seems an appropriate way to celebrate.

As I do that, I’d like to take a moment to recognize my compatriots in the BookNest allocation. When it was announced that I’d be among the 30 books assigned to BookNest, a few of my fellow authors expressed sympathy. That’s how strong the group was at the outset. More than one person called it the Circle of Death, and for me, the name stuck.

The five other semi-finalists from the group are great examples of the quality entertainment that self-publishing can produce. In his series of finalist announcements, Petros let us know that there were several books that he would have been happy to send to the finals. One of those books technically isn’t even out of the running now—We Ride the Storm is in the Senlin Safety Net!

These five books were well-written and just plain fun enough to make it to the semi-finals in BookNest’s Circle of Death. I hope you’ll give them a try. I’ve already ordered my copies.

And with that, pour one out for the fallen, and a toast to those who didn’t make it. Onward and upward with wonder and gratitude. Cheers.
